Playback Error
"alex" asked to stop your playback from this server: That's all the screen time for today. See you tomorrow.
Example of the message Plex shows when time runs out. Plex adds the server owner's name.
Their Plex, with your rules
What your kids see
The app they already know. The normal Plex app on their TV, tablet or phone, signed in to their own account.
Just their movies and shows. Only the titles you allow appear. They do not see KidsWatch itself. To them, it is just their Plex.
A clear stopping point. When time runs out, the video stops. If you pause watching, they see “A parent paused Plex” with the time it ends.
A quick checklist
What you need
You bring the family. Your server owner sets it up.
Your own Plex account
One that already watches from the server. You sign in to KidsWatch with it.
A free Plex account for each child
Use an email address you check and keep the password to yourself. A Plex Home profile alone will not work.
A server owner willing to install it
The person who runs the Plex server you watch from. They need Plex Pass and a little time to set it up.
Keep your account for you. Rules follow your child's own account. If they watch on your account, they see what you see, so put a PIN on your profile.
Give it a moment. Videos stop at the next check, usually within a minute, not the very second time runs out.

Your server owner has to install KidsWatch before you can use it. Here is a short message you can send them. Select it, copy it, and paste it into a text or email.
A ready-to-send message
Hi! Could you take a look at KidsWatch for Plex? It's a free app you install next to your Plex server. It would let me give the kids their own Plex accounts, choose what they can watch, and set screen time myself, so you don't have to. You still approve each child.
It needs Plex Pass on your account and Docker. Here's the page for server owners:

Thanks!
